The Humane Society of Kent County is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing care and shelter to animals in need. Because we do not receive any financial support from animal welfare or governmental agencies, we rely on the support of people, businesses, and community foundations to operate our facilities and programs.

Programs
Below is just a sample of the programs that the HSKC provides thanks to the proceeds of this and other fundraising events:

  • Care and adoption of stray or homeless animals
  • Lost and found services
  • Spay/neuter initiatives
  • Humane education programs
  • Animal behavior classes & counseling
  • Services for pet owners with low incomes

  • Our Mission
The Humane Society of Kent County is dedicated to the protection and care of all animals. We give voice to creatures who cannot speak for themselves. We do this by promoting responsible pet care through public education and services, working to reduce unwanted pet populations, providing humane care to abandoned, injured or relinquished animals, and finding homes for adoptable pets.

    Our Vision
A community in which all pets are provided with adequate food, shelter, medical care, companionship and appropriate training, no adoptable pets are euthanized, all companion pets are spayed or neutered, all pets are wanted and considered a part of the family, The Humane Society is considered the ‘pet source of choice’ for responsible pet owners.
